 My 1st day of thoughts.com

ok, the problem is that i moved to ocean springs in 3rd grade, and quickly became friends with this group. (Me, Kaitlyn, Jen, Elin, and Shelby). 3rd,4th,5th grade we were like sisters. ah, such good old times. But then Middle School started, and then on the first day of school in 6th grade, i just started to hang out with them less and less, I dont know why! but probably because i hadnt seen them all summer, spending it in Italy visiting relatives. now, im in 8th grade, have great friends, but i sort of feel bad just leaving them. Its been 2 years, maybe smile at eachother once every 2 weeks, so we're basically not friends AT ALL. and through the years, our whole group's(well, actually their group) split up, and they've each joined other different groups. ITs so stupid of me to just realize it now.so i want to do something that will make me friends with them again, but not like, just walking up to them one day, and talking and laughing with them like we're old friends again, just in one day. I want to do this gradually. Because around my friends, im crazy, wild and fun, but when im around Kaitlyn, Jen, Elin, and Shelby, im not all witty anymore or funny like i am around others. so one of the things i cannot do is say a simple "hi". i want to take this challenge on SO GRADUALLY, it should take like, a year. This is me:  "o god, i cant believe why a person couldnt say hi to another human being. what an idiot. She should be ashamed of herself". so......i know this seems so sophisticated, but can you guys please help? please?suggestions and comments? THANKYOUGUYSSOMUCH!

Hi Marcy~ First of all welcome to Thoughts! Second, thanks for joining the Travel group and third...
My daughter is in 7th grade and has been experiancing a lot of the same things you have described with your friends. It's hard I know. She gets so upset sometimes she cries about it. I was talking to her teacher a few months ago and he said something I thought was true. He asked me how many friends do I still have since I was in high school. None! Except my husband...LOL. Anyways I know it isn't alot of help for right here and now but maybe it can help you a tiny bit to put things into perspective. Who needs friends like that anyway. Smile because you are the better person!

Hey.
Thanks for your comment!

I do hang out with friends and stuff. The only time I feel so down is when I'm alone. I guess the silence and stuff just makes me think a lot more about what sucks.

I read your entry, and I've gone through that in Middle School. It was really horrible for a while knowing that I lost friends that I had so much fun with, but it wasn't worth going crazy over. You probably really miss them and the fun you all had together, but friendships fade sometimes. You make new friends, your interests change, etc. Don't worry about trying to gain them back. Just be yourself and perhaps you'll end up talking to one of them somehow, but if not don't worry about it. You'll make lots of new, great friends in High School! =]
Good luck.

P.S. I'm gonna add you as a friend, if you don't mind.
