hello everyone
I have never done this before but i feel a need to air my views and i am going to start with unemployment.
David Cameron has put forward the idea of making people work for thier benefits,i am unemployed and i agree with his idea but what i dont like is the view that anyyone who has been unemployed for more than a year is nothing more than a scrounger,i live in a small rural town called chesham in Buckinghamshire i do not drive and have to depend on public transport,i was sent on a course wich was supposed to help me find work but the jobs i was offered were to far away to get to on time by public transport when i tried to explain this to the small minded people running the course they agreed and told me not to bother returning,a week later i had my benefits cut the reason for this is because i did not attend the interviews that were set up for me even though it was not possible to get to them.
there is also this thing called the benefit trap ie you are worse of working than when on benefits, this is true and the problem ls not with the poor wages but the high housing costs, most people living in housing ass property are unskilled and can only get work at the lowest wage if the goverment want to help us then they should make the housing ass cut there rents by at least 50%,at the moment over two weeks wages is just for the rent wich makes it come as no suprise that a lot of people cant afford to work, there was a time when council houses were for people who could not afford to buy a house, but now it can work out cheaper to buy than to rent.
If the goverment realy want to help the poor they should make the housing ass's cut the rents.
