Hi,
I am a single parent raising a 3 year-old boy. The court is garnishing my ex's wages (when he is working) which seems to be sporadic. My ex already owes me considerable back child support and we have only been divorced a year and a half. Everytime I have had to take my ex to court, and the court has ruled in my favor, and even though I have been awarded court costs, I am not reimbursed for everything. I cannot afford this. Not only that, but my ex will not give me a physical address. The Child Support Enforcement Agency has only so many resources, and if they can't locate him, then I have no hope of receiving back child support.
I decided to create this blog because I would like to see laws changed concerning collection of child support. The Child Support Enforcement Agency was created to deal with "dead beat parents". I would like to see a law in which a "dead beat parent's" social security could be utilized for child support payment. Maybe this would encourage this individual to hold a job and take on the responsibility of their child.
I am just interested in your thoughts and suggestions (no swear words or vulgar language please).

Believe me I feel for you.Contact your state senator or representative from your district and complain.Keep complaining, get other single parents involved.Keep on them, remember they not only represent your state but you as well.Unfortunately the family courts can only do so much. It's a shame that your ex husband is making "his" children pay.Good luck to you :)

I can understand your frustration at how the system works or fails to in your country. In the uk the child support agency deals with absent fathers. There is a difference though if you are unemployed the csa will not take any money from you. There have been many cases of fathers who work and have so much money taken by the csa it is unfair. all i can add is good luck and hope it goes well for you.

I can say i know where you are coming from. I was a single mom for 5 years with 2 kids my daughters father only pays me 75$ a month she is 6 now and the payments have not changed. along with my sons father he works like one week at a job then moves to another I'm lucky to see a child support check from him in each month for the amount of 88$ and my son is 3 they both owe back support as well witch i am never going to see. yet i am a lucky woman for i did find myself a man that loves me and supports the other two dead beat guys kids. in every way a father should. lets get together and bring the dead bead dads to a stop and make them pay.

I guess that is why I started this blog. I'm not out to get the parent who is just going through a rough patch. But it seems that if we could research and contact our Senators and Representatives in a united front, then maybe we could hope to see a change. I know that there has got to be a better way and if we put our heads together I am sure that we could see a more positive outcome.
