Sleep is glorious, so glorious that I was woken up by my phone at about 1pm. Hattie came round for a chat, which was great, always good to see her, was so busy talking about men, women, sex and cake that I was nearly late for my Alien (climbing wall) group.
The kids we had were pretty well behaved and picked up belaying quite quickly which was just as well because they were big enough that holding some of them on the live rope while trying to get their belayers to do their job would probably have turned into an object lesson on rope burns.
Callum failed to turn up to climb after the group which was damn irritating but I managed to steal some belays of various other folks who I knew and spent much time chilling and chatting. I managed a clean lead of Martins 6C+ on only my second attempt at the line, I was very happy about that. I even got on Mikes 7A red on the steepest wall but after missing the first clip and clipping the wrong second clip I decided I'd have to do it a couple times on toprope first.
I rounded out the session by finishing setting my "6A" blue red spots route. I'm not sure if it will go at 6A but I always seem to overestimate by about half a grade when I'm trying the moves hanging around with the route setting equipment.
