In the past two days, I've only slept a total of I think three or four hours. This was actually normal for me back in the day, but not now. I'm old, damnit. And I require eight hours of sleep a night to function properly the next day.
I just haven't been able to sleep. It sucks. I stayed up late the other night because I was finishing a paper. So when I finally went to bed, feeling tired, I thought, "yay". But about five hours later, I was still laying in bed. Awake. I think I finally fell asleep about an hour before my husband had to get up for work. And then I couldn't go back to sleep after that. Surprisingly enough, I wasn't really tired during the day. I thought I'd be a zombie, but I was fine. Until about eight o'clock last night. But I didn't actually decide to go lay down until about ten. My husband finally came to bed around 1:30. I was still awake. So then I went into the kitchen and grabbed the nearest bottle of alcohol (which happened to be Bacardi Rum) and drank two shots, hoping that would put me to sleep. I finally got groggy about an hour later. And then fell asleep about an hour after that. And then woke up when my hubby had to get up for work.
Now I feel like a zombie.
And I can't go to sleep during the day because I have a three and half year old little girl to watch. And lately I've been having to bribe her just to get her to take a nap...and that won't even happen for another six or seven hours.
I wish I drank coffee.
