Today was pretty low-key. I worked out this morning. I stopped by Goodwill to shop around for items for my Carnaval costume. G/f called to tell me that I had a massage appointment at 4pm (it was after 3pm). So I rushed home to change clothes and get to my appointment. But the massage was a little dissapointing. I like my massages to be deep tissue, almost painful. I like it to be felt deep in the muscle - and I told the therapist this, but she basically just gave me a rubdown. it was nice and relaxing, but not really worth the price. I was a little dissapointed -but it was free, so I guess it's all good.
Thursday night g/f had a meltdown. we went to a happy hour which included a number of my young, female coworkers, and not very many males. She didn't appear to have a good time, and when it was over and my buddy invited to his house for beers afterward, she got mad and said she didn't want to go (even she is good friends with him). And she didn't have any real excuses. I told her that I wanted to go and to just drop me off, she refused and went along grudgingly. She was distant when we got there, and she didn't have a very good time as far as I could tell. I had a great time, along with everyone else there. When we finally left, G/f and I walked out and I had to come back to the house b/c I forgot my coat. One of my female coworkers wouldn't let me leave again, she jokingly blocked my exit at the door, and apparently g/f was trying to get back into the house. My coworker finally let me out after 30 seconds or so, but G/f was pissed. We fought on the way home and I told herĀ that I was fed up with her ruining a good time everywhere that we go, especially when around friends. I said that we should just break up and she freaked out. She started sobbing uncontrollably and didn't want to break up. When we got home she was still upset and crying, and we didn't get to sleep until late. When she woke up, her eyes were swollen and she couldn't open her eyes b/c they were frozen shut with dried mucous. So I took her to the doctor, and she said that g/f had developed a bacterial infection of the eyes. Her eyes had been red the day before, but she didn't think anything of it. Anyway, the doctor gave her some antibiotic eye drops and they are getting better, but we haven't really talked about what happened that night.
Anyway, I've stayed around. She's trying really hard to make it work and I feel like it's only fair to let her try. My instinct tells me that I would be happier if I left and got my own place again. I don't even really want to get with another girl or get wild. I just want some privacy, independence and to be able to do things (like go to happy hours) without being harassed.
