119:54 Your statutes are my songs In the house of my pilgrimage.
Last night my family invited me to watch The Nativity, which is a movie about the birth of Jesus. Something struck me in the movie and it is something I have been meditating on for awhile now. That is the fact that God often shatters boxes, even boxes (laws) that He created. The Nativity did and excellent job of showing some of the ridicule and hardships that Mary and Joseph may have faced on their pilgrimage, as a result of the shattered boxes they faced. I thought about how God could have done it differently, the easy way, the traditional way, and even biblical way, but he did not. His ways are higher than ours.
Instead, for the sake of the kingdom, He marked them for ridicule, judgment, rejection, and misunderstanding for the rest of their lives.
Jesus himself was marked for the same. The King of all Kings and the Lord of all Lords chose to shatter his own box and break forth into the world in a most unexpected way that goes beyond our own imaginations. He defied all logic and offended the minds of most.
As I journey on my own pilgrimage in life, I continue to ask the Lord to keep shattering all my boxes that I just want to crawl in to, and turn up the fire to burn an eternally obedient heart in me. Because......
There is no peace when I'm in the comfort zone
God, you're not there and we're left alone
Don't let me sink into religiousity
or cookie cutter Christianity,
I want what you want for me
Where I am so weak please make me strong
to run the race no matter how long
I am your servant and your will is mine
now and forever til the end of time
Psalm 84: 4 Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; They will still be praising You.Selah 5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage. 6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca, They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools. 7 They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion.
Bless you all!
