I wrote this awhile back but it still speaks to me so I thought I'd share :)

But for eternity

I've been wrestling with faith as faith wrestles with me
to usher me into my destiny

Abraham waited for promises
God put deep in his heart
planted by God himself
they would not depart

Promises were a long time in coming
for this man of faith
and I'm sure he had no idea
how long he'd have to wait

Simeon had no peace until he held the promise in his arms
Until his own eyes saw salvation
until he spoke revelation
about the child's destiny
and the sign he would be

Anna waited all her life praying night and day
while watching and waiting for the promise to finally come her way

When God speaks a promise
a holy dissatisfaction resides
until the promise is fulfilled
nothing can fully satisfy

Jesus you're the only way
on this narrow path day by day
to keep me strong to go your way

You are my strength you are my song
that speaks to my heart all day long

With humility I stand on the promises of God
no matter how hard this journey may be
cuz these promises aren't just for me
but for eternity

And this is my hope for sure
that in the end faith will win
and God's bride will be made pure
