It is good for the soul to take the example of Psalms and pour our hearts out in writing, once in awhile, but it is also a risk for misinterpretation. So at that risk, I'll pour a little.
Today, I was laying on my bed, feeling blue, and looking up at the ceiling. Nails and boards, cement walls, cement floor, and no windows, all closed in on me as I observed my surroundings, my reality. It's called an unfinished basement, which looks and feels like a prison cell. Don't get me wrong. I am not complaining because God has prepared me for this extreme lifestyle change, called a life of faith, for a long long time now, and I actually do rejoice in it.
But what it made me think of was Joseph. Joseph, was a dreamer and so am I. Obliviously and innocently he shared his dreams, and paid a huge price. I can certainly relate.
Every day that the doors to the prison opened, Joseph must have held his breath, hoping against all hope, that someone was coming to set him free. But no one did and he felt himself fading into the prison walls more each day.
Genesis 40:23Yet the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him
Day after day, month after month, and even into years later, the prison doors remained shut and He had no idea when they would ever open for him again. But, thank the Lord, we know the end of that story.
Maybe not all of us are dreamers, but we all have a dream in our heart, put there by God, the dream giver. I am confident that we can entrust our dreams to the the dream giver, who cares more about our dreams, hopes, and future plans, and promises, even more than we do. And one day we will all walk the streets of gold, rejoicing together in our ultimate dream come true- to be with our God for eternity!
2 Corinthians 4:17 For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure.
Bless you all!

Outstanding! "I am confident that we can entrust our dreams to the Dream Giver, who cares more about our dreams, hopes, future plans, and promises, even more than we do." This one sentence caught my attention and held it for some time. Well said!
I'm loving it. Thanks for sharing your inspiring and insightful thoughts.

God Bless you Sheryl
Like you now, I had to rejoice and give thanks unto the Lord for the thorny parts, before the dream of a beautiful rose developed, it's not easy yet; we can do all thing through Him who strengthens us, His joy is our strength, as you know.
Glory!
