This week is the Feast of Tabernacles and it is a reminder of God's deliverance that all of us experience when we come out of our Egypt (Bondage to sin and comfort zone). The Israelites wandered in the desert in tents and many will live in tents this week to remember that God brought them out of Egypt.
This is also my personal week of tabernacle since I have been wandering in this desert, trying to find a place to settle, as much as a stranger in a strange land can.
As the deadline approached ,and it looked like there was no where to go, I found myself checking into plane tickets to go back to Egypt (my free rent, easy living comfort zone in California.) But I knew God was asking me to trust Him even beyond the eleventh hour, for a break through. As always, He did come through, but it was definately at the last second.

Whether here on earth, or in heaven, or both, I am headed to the promised land. I will lean on God's grace to resist going back to my Egypt. I will follow the cloud by day and the fire by night because He is the one I can rest in on this journey through the wilderness.
Kieth Green's song "So you want to go back to Egypt", says it even better than I can if you want to check it out on youtube.
I know Keith is enjoying his promised land now and I know that we all will too someday.
Have a blessed Feast of Tabernacle week!

Leviticus 23:41 Celebrate this as a festival to the LORD for seven days each year. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come; celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 Live in booths for seven days: All native-born Israelites are to live in booths 43 so your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in booths when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.'" 44 So Moses announced to the Israelites the appointed feasts of the LORD.
