Happy Birthday My Dear Edwina

I choose to create this blog on my good friend Edwina's birthday. For the past dozen years in which we have been friends, we've given each other handfuls of birthday presents - cards, jigsaw puzzles, pretty ornaments... Material gifts, that is. This year I thought I'd do something different. I would like to start a space where thoughts are presented - thoughts, not incidents, not even feelings. My days of sharing the daily happenings that make up my life are over for the moment. It's time that I look through the hours and see what lies beneath.
It would be terribly selfish to keep the expression of ideas here an exclusive privilege that only I enjoy. Participation will be anticipated and welcomed. If you want to add, argue or simply share something of your own, you simply need to send an email to sherathoughts@gmail.com, and I'll see to it that good thoughts are out in the open to be savored and appreciated.

I name the blog after She-Ra, Princess of Power (for good thoughts are power, aren't they?), and dedicate this blog to two of my very special friends, Edwina and Kevin, to whom I owe so much for becoming who I am now. Sometimes I wonder if it's a coincidence that your birthdays are exactly six months apart. The 28th must be a very blessed day of July and January.
