When it Rains...

When it rains it pours, remember that saying?? Well folks, it is TRUE.
My week has been rough and it is only Wednesday. Heres the poo....

Sunshine went to lunch with friends and then hid out at aunt and uncles house for some time. I messaged her around 7:30, because I knew she would be returning to campus for a hall meeting. No answer. As I do not want to hover (helicopter parent no more)..I waited. She never messaged..so I assumed she was fine..as I would be the first to hear if she was in a crisis. Meanwhile...

I worked yesterday with 6 children. All great, precious and beautiful 2 girls 4 boys..It rained all day so they were WILD..Around 12 noon I started itching..all over. Now I have severe allergies..food and environmental. Having been to the Olive Garden the night before and tried a new dish..eggplant parmesan and their new flat breads ..I figured it is a food allergy. Well folks..you got it...I am broke out from head to toe in splotches..Red welts ..very itchy. I took two benadryl at 8:00..and invited hubby to come scratch my itch before I passed out.

Of course he jumped on this...Oohh La La. I was asleep by 9.

Around 11:30 I start hearing this sound. Bleep bleep..bleep bleep..and it sounds like I am at Walmart listening to the cash register ring up an endless amount of groceries. I am in a deep sleep (coma) due to the benadryl. I just can not get awake to figure out what is bleep..bleeping.
Finally realize..it is my cell phone..messaging. Sunshine has dropped her laptop and it is broken. At this point ..in a daze..I just want to say..open up the window..and drop the damn thing out..I am sleeping.
Of course she would have fainted should I have said that..so I finally wake up enough to text..Take it to Best Buy and have them fix it..Pay with your mastercard..she then figures out it is only popped out of the case and snaps it back in..Wallah!! fixed.
My eyes are barely open enough to read her texts, let alone text her for the next hour..so I tell her how much I love her..and go back to sleep.

This morning I have an email from Sunshine stating that said roommate has been expelled from the college for her actions during the summer/not cleaning the suite. . OH MY!! I should be ecstatic..I am not. While I am glad she is no longer a threat to Sunshine..I do hate that she has been expelled. This is somebody's daughter..and she is young. To beat it all..she is highly intelligent..perfect scores..good scholarships.. I am hoping that she will learn some responsibility and the natural consequences that follow her choices. She has to be moved out by the weekend, at which time Sunshine's suite will be cleaned and she can move back to her original room..Geesh!!

Such is life folks...one thing right after another. Remember..it is not what happens to you in life, but how you handle each struggle. Did you face it head on..and try to fix it..or did you crumble with the weight of it. Noone chooses the crisis that befall them..but we all have a choice in how we handle them.

		I've also had my share of "when it rains, it pours" days. I feel so bad for you, but you'll get through it! Benedryl should help you feel better. Regarding your daughter's roommate, maybe she deserved to be expelled and needed a wake-up call. Hope the rest of your week is much better! :)

		You poor thing! How are you doing today? Scratching away? What do you think it was that you were allergic too?? And yay Sunshine! At least she won't have to deal with the girl, right?

		I do feel bad for the other girl... but wanting to beat people up? your in colege now and it is time to grow up... maybe this will teach her something. I am gald your daughter will be safe soon

		I think it sounds like the girls track record that got her thrown out. Surely not cleaning a room didn't do it. Was that boyfriend of hers in college as well or just living in her room? Maybe it was to get rid of two problems??? I'd say anywhere they could have moved her would have just been another problem for someone else. If she was there blessed by scholarships I don't feel sorry for her. Someone more deserving could use that money! Someone else that is smart and knows how to treat others. I'll admit yes they are young and have lessons to learn but come on. She can't just bully her way through college! She's way past the point she should be grown up enough to know that. Don't feel like it's your fault for having to raise issues about her. You paid (or someone paid) good money for Sunshine to be there. I always hear about people thinking back to the college days. It would be terrible for Sunshine to look back on years spent around this girl through hers!

		Well, I hope the week keeps improving from here on for you. Try not to scratch, easier said than done. Hope you feel better soon. I breath a sigh of relief for Sunshine and for you. Maybe this other girl did need a huge wake up call, that now it's time to grow up and accept some responsibilities in life. You are such a forgiving and kind soul.....Sunshine is very lucky to have you :)

		It is amazing how things always seem to work their way out. I am glad everything is finally settled for you daughter...these should be the best times of her life, but after a rocky start it sounds like it should be a great year for her. Take care of your rash, don't scratch too much !! :)
