 The Beat Goes On......
Yesterday was an uneventful day. Work went well as usual..I have a great group of little sweeties to work with. One is on vacation and I had one begin school so there were only 5 here. I heard from Sunshine midday..seems like her new job (she started yesterday) may not give her many hours. In fact she only worked 40 minutes and was told to clock out. She only works 5 hours a week, and it seems to me, she should have been given something else to do for those 20 minutes..Oh Well!! She is in excellent spirits and has settled into her new room (she and a friend cleaned some of it so she could move in). We had a long talk as she had free time from her job (ahem..ha) and chose to call me. Woot!!

After work, my husband decided to grill out. He had purchased pork chops and made sirloin tips on a skewer. I had to leave to pick up Charlie Brown (son) from a friends, so he could join us for dinner. Before I left I loaded the dishwasher with assorted glasses and made sure the sink was clean for him to work with while he was cooking. Did I mention he is a neat freak (OCD!!). Upon my arrival home..he is creaming potatoes, his specialty in fact..he is a great cook. He goes out to get meat off the grill and comes zooming inside with some slightly burnt chops. He is all upset of course that he let this meat burn. Now to me, it is not a big deal (not much is actually), but he is all upset. As is his way he starts ranting.. "IF I HAD SOME HELP AROUND HERE THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED..!! I HAVE TO DO IT ALL". I raise my eyebrows..and say "Now honey, I was not even here. I had to pick up CB and pick up the rolls and you just can not blame this one on me". To which he admits.."Yeah I know..its just so frustrating..to not get this all done the way I want it..at the same time".  I tell him.."women go through this all the time..trying to balance the cooking of the meat with the mashing of the potatoes..it is hard to get it all done at the same time". "Don't sweat it..we will eat what we can (seriously they are not that bad, in fact some people eat them this way all the time), and give the rest to the dogs". The steak skewers are perfect by the way. I make me a plate and go sit down and enjoy it. He brings his plate and eats with me while CB gets his plate, overflowing with food in fact and eats.  I tell my husband that the food is great, acknowledge his disappointment in the burnt pork chops and we move along.

The rest of the night was uneventful as we prepared for bed and work the next day. I did chuckle to myself about the blog I posted yesterday stating that my husband blamed me for everything. The incident tonight just reminded me of this,  as it is a perfect example. God love him, he just can not take full responsibility for anything, even if I am miles away in the van running errands.

I awoke sometime in the night to him gently touching my face. I didn't open my eyes or come full awake. Hmm as long as he isn't measuring my neck for a knife I am fine. JOKING of course. Ha! It is always sweet for a man to touch your face. Remember that men..touch your women..Not just sexually..We have all these nerves in our skin for a reason.

Have a great day folks...!

Stopped by to catch up with you. I so enjoy reading your posts. Your warm friendly writing style makes me feel like we are chatting, over a cup of coffee, at the kitchen table. I'm so glad things have settled down, at college, for Sunshine. Perhaps your husband needs to read the book "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff". Years ago I was exactly like him ... always needing everything to be perfect and totally upset if things weren't. The book gave me a new perspective and now I'm much more relaxed about things. Peace.
