I have been watching the Olympics off and on. Who has enough time to just sit down and watch it for hours?? Not me.
While watching I have noticed, not so much the winners but the person who gets second or third or worse yet, fourth, finishing just out of medal range..In women's track for instance..the pain was palpable for some of these women. Women who were supposed to win..and fell short. The agony of training for hours and hours, days and days, months and months...well you get it.
The gymnast from China who fell during the floor excercise, favored to win..did not even get a medal. Her family had been given a home when she made the team..wonder what happens with that?? Yikes..the pressure and the agony she felt was horrible. She cried..and that broke my heart. The American gymnast who got the same score as the Chinese gymnast and the Chinese gymnast took home the gold..hmm what was up with that??
That has to be the worst feeling in the world. Yeah you got to go and represent your country..but once there..you blew it.Yikes!! Maybe I am too sensitive..and someone has to be the first loser and second and third and so forth..
I stayed up until 11 hoping to catch one BMX race..to no avail. I don't know what time they came on..but I hear Team USA faired well. It comes on prime time tonight. If you see any of it..that is the sport my son competes in. We have enjoyed dinner with Kyle Bennett several times while at some of the National events. Go Team USA!!!!
peace :D shemelts
