Just a quick post to catch people up on the surgery. My husband went under the knife this a.m. and is now recovering at home. Because he is in such good health, no pre-surgery tests were taken. As the nurse put it "You are a good-looking picture of health"...well now..does a happy ending come with that comment? Ha! I thought it was great of her to point out how handsome she thought he was.
So he had the hernia surgery and was back in the room after only one hour. He came in with a goofy grin on his face and never went back to sleep..Me, when I have surgery, I never want to wake up. After he went to the potty to pee(the nurse ran the water in the sink outside of the bathroom, i guess to encourage the reluctant pee out...ha), he was allowed to go home.
Me being the awesome wife that I am drove him straight home, well not exactly we live on a curvy road. He insisted that I was hitting every pothole and swerving too much.."worst driver in the world", he said. Got him home and by then he is all queasy and dizzy(bless him..a car ride will do that to ya..WHEN YOUR ALL DOPED UP). So I put him gingerly into the king size bed and fluffed his pillow and off to la la land he went.
He has since eaten twice(did not quell his appetite, I see), and been up to pee several times(weaving and bobbing). I gave him the first of his percocets and he just went out. When he woke for the first time he said "I can't even feel my toes"(can you tell this guy has never done any drugs?) Anywho..he is resting quietly and I intend to keep him doped up for the next 5 days so he can rest and not rip his hernia open(he is extremely active).
Thank you to all the people who thought of us today as we went on this little adventure and pray that he can be STILL for a few days till he recovers.

Hey...Hope he gets well soon! Praying that he keeps still and does do too many acrobatics ;)
