| Stop Whining Already...GEESH!!!

So, I went with my husband to the surgeon to assess his hernia for surgery. On the way over he starts whining, "Oh, I hope this isn't too painful".."I am really dreading him pushing on this". What???
Not to be cold here, but hello...this is not that big of a deal. Apparently the men at work had told him the exam would be most painful and that he would probably faint..give me a break.
I kindly reminded my husband of 24 yrs and 10 months that I gave birth to two babies(8lbs 9oz each)without meds. Have had two breast surgeries(complicated)with no anesthesia, and one without numbing meds, as it would not work.
Countless tests, pokings and proddings. Not to mention yearly pap smears and mamograms.
He could suck it up..and quit whining.
Nothing I hate more than a whimp..
Now don't start the hate mail..I am a truely compassionate person, and I love my husband. My philosophy is: Life is hard..suck it up and keep moving forward. The pain won't last long, and you will recover..and just think you get off from work for 4-6 weeks(I had less than a week off with each birth).
I have never and I mean never taken a sick day in 25 years. I have never just laid down and rested, I worked through every procedure and after(because I own a childcare business in my home and I am responsible, dependable person.yada..yada). Sick, hurt, broken thumb..it doesn't matter. I'm like the US mail..nothing stops me from opening the daycare.
Think I am jealous..yeah probably. I never have had the luxury of sitting on my arse for weeks at a time(and never will have..due to my career choice).
He will be resting for the first week and then he professes to want to clean the house..oh bother. Sounds like a dream come true..it is not. He is one anal guy and he will tear out everything and try to put it back together again. Not my idea of fun. YIKES!
Seriously he has surgery Mon. at 11:30 at the local hospital. It is outpatient and he will get good meds to lay down and relax with. I will go with him and nurse him back to health..so he can get back to work..(just kidding). He can't drive for 1 week and this will truely be torture for him, as he is a busy guy. Hopefully he will follow doctors orders and relax so he can get back to work in 4 weeks.
Pray for us that we make it through financially and that I don't hurt him next time he whines...ha..just kidding.
These troubled times are hard on everyone. Paycheck to paycheck is how most of us live. So when that paycheck is gone...things go south fast. My husband is a worry wart..me, I am accepting of the situation and I always come out on top..It's that good attitude you get when you grow up with a drunk.
You know that, life could be so much worse..Money problems..big deal. Least we will be sober whilest we try to figure out how to pay everything and continue to eat. Ha.

I wish you .. oh and your husband well. As mentioned FOTY had a hernia op. I was pregnant with our second, and Miss 8 was 3 years old. I was working 4 days a week and had to take time off to look after him. He was and probably still is a big sook - I think that is Men for you though.
Good Luck!
