Friday night I went to the Cracker Barrel to pick up my Sunshine's to-go order. Yes folks, I do run and pick up food and deliver it to my children (even when they are 22). Why do you think I only have two children? So I could spoil them, of course. :D
Anywho, I get there and the order is ready. Now I called this order in under my maiden name, as I have a sticky icky slang term for my married name, and sometimes people feel uncomfortable saying it...out LOUD. I go to the cashier, who has seen me now on 100 times, as this is perhaps her 2/3 year there, and I visit several times a week.
I ask for my to go order and she asks for the name. I give her Ms. B. and she goes and gets the order and rings it up. She looks at me and she announces "I just need to tell you something". I smile, per my usual and say "What?" She says "There is a lady that comes in here that looks exactly like you". Now folks I get this all the time, so it is of little consequence to me, I'm not even curious anymore who they think I look like. So I reply "Isn't she the lucky one?" and snigger a bit. She says "Oh yeah she is, she looks exactly like you but her name is Ms. F."
So folks it is at this time that my eyes widen and I tell this little blonde.."I need to tell you something". She is all like "What?" I say "Well you just had a blonde moment, because that is indeed my name. I just use my maiden name to call in orders so you don't have to yell out my married name". Light bulbs go off behind her eyes and she smiled and then she says "Well I am blond"......HELLO FOLKS...LOL!!!
Wow, we just don't make them like we used to. :)
