 Confucius
It angers me that my mom, an adult near her fifties, has to answer to a 20 year old know-nothing. How do you feel when your supervisor is much younger than you? I believe that older people should always be respected. An older person has so much more experience and wisdom than a teenager. Even if the teenager is privileged to be in a better position than my mom, respect should still be warranted. Respect for elders is emphasized by Confucius, but I feel that this tenet is being washed away into oblivion.
I, too, have to remind myself to respect elders when I walk the halls of the hospital. It's easy to look down on whining and moaning patients. But when I see these patients with their families, I realize how these patients can be the heads of their families. They have accomplished so much and experienced so much that is not known to me. They certainly don't need my disgust. They're all older than me and deserve much respect.

PS. I haven't written in a long while, that's why my sentences are awkward and choppy....
