What can anyone say now? He did it. Barack Obama is officially the first African American to be nominated by the Democratic party! I can't believe it - or better yet I can. I knew he could do it. So many people don't want him to move forward because they feel that America's not ready for a "black" president. Well, I don't know what Americans are voting in our elections then because CLEARLY he's doing something right. As an African American I am shining with pride and I really hope this shine turns into a glow in November. Now the question is whether or not he will add Clinton to his ballad. A lot of people don't think he should for many reasons including Senator Clinton may have him killed, but I think that's a childish approach to this issue. It should be evident to America that an Obama Clinton campaign could be the hugest phenomenon the Democratic party has ever seen in history. Not only will that assure him a spot in the Whitehouse as I'm pretty sure most democrats are craving our place back, but it will be the ultimate example of progression for African Americans and women everywhere. Middle aged white male beware - the face of America has suddenly gotten a little more diverse 
I'd also like to express my sweet enjoyment in watching him speak right now so positively about Clinton. Even after beating her he still emphasizes her qualification, talent, brilliance and "unyeilding desire to improve the lives of ordinary Americans." I mean, I dont know guys. He really is sicing her. Of course she spoke highly of him. He won and I'm sure she wants to be on the ticket, but the significance of his acknowledgment is so much greater. I really think he might choose her. Come on America (Obama supporters including myself) we'd have to be some fucked up idiots to deny the world of change that can arise out of four years of Obama and Clinton... |
