 PURPOSE
SHARE THE WORD is a companion blog to THE GOD WHO SEES ME - A Devotional Prayer Journal at   http://devotionalprayerjournal.blogspot.com/ a through-the-Bible devotional site, beginning with Genesis 1:1.

SHARE THE WORD will post primarily New Testament entries, along with miscellaneous thoughts from time to time. Both devotional sites focus on the lives of real people who lived in Bible times. The decisions they made impacted themselves and those they loved, with consequences that are with us even today.

Our lives are no less important in God's sight, and we would do well to look closely at the examples He has given us in these stories. Living a life of godly influence in this generation and the next requires earnest prayer that takes God at His Word.

I wish I could visit your blogspot site but I'm unable to get on any blogspot site, not even my own, since I got back to China. I suspect there are some restrictions on the sever here in China. The name of your blog reminded of mine that I used to write on, mydevotionalpoetry.blogspot.com, and two other ones: unashamedpursuit.blogspot.com and simplylewis.blogspot.com. Oh how I miss reading them! I believe God is still using them for his glory.

I will try to see if I can get those sites. I have some other sites you might try:

Mike, I just logged into "unashamedpursuit" What a lovely site! Did you live in Oklahoma or Texas? I noticed a link to a Fort Worth church. I am sure God is still using your posts. His Word never returns void. :)

I did my undergraduate in FW and stated graduate school in Oklahoma City. The church is were I went during my college.

Unfortunately, I could access neither of the sites. Maybe all the popular blog sites are blocked here in China.

My Vox sites seem to have lots of people from UK and Canada and Australia.

Do you have copies of all that you posted on Blogspot? If you need for me to copy and paste anything onto your Thoughts blog I will be happy to.

What career will you use your graduate degree for when you have completed school?

How earnest and thoughtful of anyone who wants to share the scriptures, the Bible with others. Many might agree this is a significantly profound and historic book of universal scope.
If anyone believes the Bible is worth reading and sharing it. Then it should be of immediate benefit to pick up one's Bible from the coffee table and begin examining it. Do we need a unseen, unknown individual with good intentions to ignite our response to read the Bible daily and address our spiritual needs to God's approval?
The Bible in written form has been around for a long time. If God intended us to make great, spiritual progress via the computer with internet. Then the personal computer then might had been around longer before the 1980's. Computers are machines, helpful, electronic tools of transmitting and gathering data. That's of course isn't all to the picture. Many people appreciate the value of the Bible. Yet applying it's timeless counsel is another matter of great concern. Consider this, how many people highly esteem Jesus' Sermon on the Mount?-Matthew chapters 5-7. But yet they may not wish to listen to the Greatest Teacher in their day to day lives?- Matthew 7:1-3 for example.
Would not the world today be a better place to live if all humans work at applying the counsel Jesus gave in the sermon on the mount? I am not asking you to draw immediate conclusions to this response. Yet this is something to ponder about, to think about.

No CJinspector, you don't need the internet to access God's Word, that is for sure! But as you say, it is a tool and a way of reaching many people around the world.

I have tried in my short devotionals to model a two-way conversation with God. Allowing His Word to speak to my heart and then praying the application back to Him.

The Bible is a living book, the Word of God. Each time I read through it, my heart is touched in a different way. The Truth is unchanging, but my life needs do change and the Bible has all we need no matter what our circumstances in life.

I have to say I am not really into God but I appreciate many good, decent people are.

Wow, amazing.

Hi, My name is Saghnh.

I was actually going to write a long and very objective statement on religion and how it effects the world so it wouldn't be in appropriate in any way and would be more like constructive "criticism" than a lashing of your opinions.

However.
As I read these comments, read your post, saw what a major impact their religion had on these people, all of the people in the world. Whether you believe in a God of some kind or not. Religion phases you.

Normally I would say; Heey, who cares right? People have the right to whatever they want, worship whomever they like.

And this is an educated opinion. Don't you feel that the God that you know is the higher power in this universe is the true ruler of all, and gives purpose and meaning to everything?

So does everyone else.

"In the name of GOD"

Your GOD is the true one! RIGHT? AWESOME!

That is the one thought that spins around in over 6 billion peoples heads daily.

Doesn't that amaze you?
How something that may have been a goof, may have been something laugheble, or maybe something miraculous could become something divine.

Everything is holy in the minds of a person. An individual has the right to choose what to be, where to go, what to do, who they are.

We do have the right. Don't we?

If it was that simple.

Many of these choices are just simply, made for us. There's nothing we can do about it. Usually it doesn't phase us that we live in that particular neighborhood, with that special neighboor, with that white and black cat who always runs when you try to get close enough to pat it and watch it purr and smile as happily as it did when the neighboors daughter patted it.

Who sent you there?

Who made the choices?

I can't say.

I don't know.

I know one thing though;

" It wasn't me "

" it wasn't me " is a quote from Shaggy,( not that anyone is stupid) sometimes some people become confused when they see something in a different perspective than their own. ( Well Whaddayou know? ) It's actually ment as " It wasn't YOU" Just so that's clear and that there won't be any misunderstandings posting back to me : OFC IT WASN'T YOU YOUR NOT GOD!!!! or something similar to that:P ( Ps: OFC I'm not god, geez. )

Thus the Quotation marks,

You've got me a little confused about who Shaggy is, but maybe I'll take a stab at commenting on some of your observations.

I see from entering your blog that you claim to be atheist. In view of that, and having interacted with several atheists in my limited blogging experience, I am not sure if your observations are tongue in cheek or sincere.

Since I can't know that at this point I will assume you are sincere. Since the authority for my faith comes from the Bible, I prefer to answer from Scripture. That does not mean I am not giving serious personal thought to what each person comments on my blog.

I will go ahead and post this and then look up the Scripture I am thinking about. Not sure how much I will get to tonight, but I will at least start. Thank you for commenting.

Your thoughts about so many religions and who it is who really decides where we live, etc. reminded me of the Apostle Paul when he was reasoning with the men of Athens.

This is a bit lengthy, but it has so much that pertains to what you said, I would like to quote it.

Acts 17:22-31

Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, "Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription:

TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.

Therefore, the one whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything,

since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth,

and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;

for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.' Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man's devising.

Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead."
NKJV

And the rest of the story:

Acts 17:32-34

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, "We will hear you again on this matter." So Paul departed from among them.

However, some men joined him and believed, among them Dionysius the Areopagite, a woman named Damaris, and others with them.
NKJV

There will always be some who mock and some who will believe, both men and women.

He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained.

Wow, scary how you turned my views on how religion affects the world, and how I tried to not debate whether there is a God or not. I can't say I know. But as you have already figured out I do know what I believe.

I'll write in my blog, a text. It will be some days.
Maybe then your perplexed views upon me can change for the better of myself and yourself. I hope You'll see. (Smiley Face)
