| "Education is very important...

... School, however, is a different story."
KUDOS to who ever said that.. because i certainly couldn't agree more. i should be doing my homework right now.. but instead i'm sitting here on thoughts.com bitching about why i'm not doing it.
school.. it's definitely not the reason i can call myself an intelligent person. if anything i believe school kills the humans natural instincts to WANT to learn.. the school system is just a fucked up, MANDATORY routine. kids hate it - and since kids hate school so much, they associate NEGATIVE feelings towards learning in general.
i can't even believe my dad paid so much to put me in those new classes because i'll be OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL by by march anyway, so wtf? i don't take high school seriously at all.. i'm graduating EARLY by taking the CHSPE.. either way i'm going to have to go to community college - when i DO get to community college (when things actually get serious and count for a university) i WILL take it completely serious.. but for now i find high school absolutely pointless.
ahh.. screw it. i guess i'm stuck doing this bull shit anyway. i better get used to doing a lot of homework since i'm gonna be taking 7-8 classes per semester the instant i get to college.. i want to get it over and done with IMMEDIATELY.

I wholeheartly agree with you rosie. School makes learning seem terrible, that's why so many people don't try to do it on their own. School made reading into a bad thing, that's why alot of people don't read books, they associate it with negative feelings just like you said. Because schools FORCE you to read what they want you to read instead of letting you read something on your own, and reading with out the freedom of choice is often a very dreadful task for many.
