| A desk for Christmas, not once but twice!!!

When I was 5 years old, my grandfather gave me a rolltop desk for Christmas. I loved that desk and I still have it, to this day. It's boxed up, and tucked away up in my attic. My daughter used it for a short time, and even my youngest sonused the desk for a little while. Now it waits for another little one to enjoy it one day. I have such fond memories of that desk. I used to spend hours at that desk just drawing, and writing and playing anything that required a desk in the creativeness of make- believe.
Well that was 34 years ago, and now I have another rolltop desk. This time it was given to me by my husband for Christmas. He had no idea what a special token of love it would bring to me. He was thinking practical uses for a gift, since I am college, a desk was a fitting gift. He was quite touched when he realized how much this desk meant to me. It's a piece of childhood revisited. It just gives me that warm feeling of dajavu, only you know exactly why it feels so familiar. It's the past and present combination that makes the sentiment so wonderful.
Sometimes life is so good , you say how did I get to be so lucky! NOT ALWAYS>>>but sometimes...
