Now that I have the e-mail rant out of the way I can tell you about a very wonderful Thanksgiving.
Being alone and having no family left to speak of, I went to a free Thanksgiving dinner at a Catholic church. I cannot begin to tell you how amazed I was.
There was a band playing Christmas songs. We were each escorted to a seat at a table and the food was brought to us. There were children bringing the meals and what meals they were!!! Enough for me to have 3 meals instead of just one. There were constantly people walking around offering more food, drinks and desserts.
Santa came and gave the kids treats.
The overall mood was so uplifting, friendly and caring. What a wonderful experience and what a great way for the kids to learn about giving and helping.
