Thanks again to all who responded to and read my blogs. It's very much apprecitated.
I had some question about my last entry so will try to answer them here. I will post some pictures/.graphics when I make something I feel is worth posting. Thanks for asking :)
There are all types of disabilities. Some unseen. I've heard people complaining about someone parking in a disabled parking place when they're obviously not disabled. If someone has a handicapped sticker on their liscence plate or hanging from their rear view mirrior, they're disabled. Things like heart disease, lupus, parkinsons...many are not visible especially in the early stages and not all the time even then.
Blindness is a puzzling disease. There are many degrees and types of blindness. Some people lose their "center vision", some lose their preipheral vision, some lose all of their vision, others fall into the middle somewhere.
With my disease (histoplasmosis), I've lost most of my center vision. I can still see and identify things. My biggest problem is that I can't read without visual aids. It's hard for me to tell if meat is done or not , small things just escape me unless I'm really searching for them. Money and coins are frustrating.
Histoplasmosis is a fungus disease that comes from bird droppings. It attacks and causes hemmorages in the lungs to begin with. Once that's done it often attacks another body organ (in my case the eyes). There is a cure for it if you are diagnosed correctly to begin with (when it's in the lungs) so if you suddenly start having trouble breathing on a regular basis, have your doctor check for histoplasmosis. Mine was not correctly diagnosed and was allowed to move into my eyes.
I spent a year in the emergency room at least once a week trying to breathe then it suddenly just stopped. A few months later I was legally blind. It happened over night, I had no warning.
I used to love to just drive and see what was on every road I passed. I loved fishing and being in nature. I don't drive now and can't fish without having someone near to help me out occasionally. Walking is my passion now though I just had knee replacement surgery and my walking is limited at the moment.
Anyway, please, just be aware that this disease exsists and be vigilant. See your doctor if you suspect you might have it.
Todays thought:
When you truly live in unconditional love you cannot be disappointed.
