I wrote this song AGES ago (probably two or three years), but kept it to myself as a reminder of what Jesus means to me...
I wanted to sing it for church at Easter, but felt like maybe I wasn't ready. I still don't think I'm ready for what it all means, but thought I'd share this most precious account with anyone and everyone willing to read it and consider it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~
Crimson broken skin, battered on the ground, taunted by the crowd.
A promise unfulfilled, tears that waste away the heart, a life that's taken and given.
Eyes that raise to meet mine in my sin and shame; the only one worthy enough to take away my pain.
Beautiful Savior
Here in lost silence, I'm waiting for you
to do your will
Here I am kneeling and honor you still
because you are
Beautiful, Savior
Mem'ries of that day, they tear me apart; all because I know now
The promise was for me; how unworthy I must be, to throw away something so special.
You died in spite of all you saw in me; I love you, I praise you, I need you Lord; Never let me be.
(Repeat Chorus)
2nd Chorus:
Beautiful Savior
Saved from lost silence, I'm ready for you
to do your will
Here I am kneeling and honor you still
because you are
Beautiful, Savior
Be blessed.
