One of my favourite books is Ghandi's autobiography. If what the Bible says is true, and God is love, than I say that Ghandi understood Yeshua's teachings better than most "christians". His way of dealing with religious differences was often to focus people on the things they have in common. In his lifes case it was that in order to have an independent India in a peaceful manner his country-men would have to show that they could put their religious differences aside, and work together. So what is the common grounds in our case?
There are certain ideas, certain concepts that regardless of religion people seem to be united on thinking is right. Taking care of our planet, helping people out, that family has great value. I very much want to be part of a coming together of people who just does something right, for the sake of it being right; who does not care what religion the person next to them is as much as how they can help eachother out. I want to be surrounded by people who believe that service is the greatest form of leadership. There are so many organizations already, and yet I still haven't joined one. I want to make a challenge to my readers and to myself. To do something in service not for your own glory but to show people coming together, and doing whats right, get people from all race and creeds, and do something. Even if its as simple as going around your neighbourhood and picking up the litter. Than please put a photo up, not as praise to yourself but as encouragement, that the spirit of mankind, can still unite for the sake of good.
I look forward to seeing your results, and to posting my own.
