 Master Dragon meets Master Tiger
While I have indeed promised a second part to my previous post, which is still coming I thought I'd take a break from my usual stuff for a little bit.  I give a lot of thought to improving myself now so that when I have kids I will be a good father.  One of the things I try to do is come up with bedtime stories that will teach good lessons and that will be something special for me to tell my children just because I came up with them.

Master Dragon was a great warrior in training to become a great leader.  He was young, but e had many powerful abilities.  He was incredibly strong, he could fly, and even throw fire.  He had earned the name Master in a previous war, and dragon was not just a description of his abilities, but also of his heart.

One day Master Dragon heard about another master, Master Tiger.  It was said that Master Tiger was very wise.

Understanding that if he was to become a great leader some day that he would need wisdom Master Dragon decided to seek out Master Tiger.   After a few days of searching Master Dragon met an old man.

This old man, was strong for his age, but Master Dragon could tell just by looking that the man wasn't as strong as him.  The old man spoke to him saying "I hear you've been searching for Master Tiger."

Surprised by this from the stranger Master Dragon said "Yes, yes, do you know where I could find him"?

"Well you see..." said the old man "I happen to be him."

"How could you be a Master old man"?! Master Dragon replied.

With this the old man simply smiled and said "Very well.  Than we shall hold a test."

Now in order to earn his name Master Dragon had, had to pass many tests already, so he liked this idea.
"Very well, sir.  What will it be?"

The old man simply smiled and without blinking said.  "I want you to come at me, and attack with all the power you can muster."

Now Master Dragon did not like attacking people weaker than him, so he wasn't exactly enthusiastic about this request.

"What's wrong"? the old man asked.  "Are you afraid I will beat you, or are you looking down on me"?

Realizing that the old man was right Master Dragon checked one last time "Are you sure about this, sir?  I am a very powerful warrior, and I would feel very bad about hurting you."

"If I get hurt it was by my own desire"  replied the old man.

"Very well than" said Master Dragon and he took off into the air.  He was going to come soaring down as fast and as hard as he could with a punch, but at the last moment change direction.  When he intentionally missed, the old man who had not flinched nor moved at all called out... "What was that?  I told you to attack me, now stop doddling, and get on with it."

Master Dragon decided that if the man had the courage to stand like that he may have been telling the truth about really being Master Tiger.  So this time Master Dragon decided he would attack with his full strength.

He flew up as high as he could, and than began his dive just like a hawk, ready and sure that his punch would strike the old man in the gut, but right before the punch landed something went wrong.  All Master Dragon knew was that his face was in the ground, and that the old man was holding the arm Master Dragon had intended to punch him with.

"You have a lot of power..." began Master Tiger, "...but it is worthless without technique.  You see, technique means control, and even though lightning strikes are very strong; if no one can control them, than this does us no good.  Power without control is worthless"

Master Tiger than helped Master Dragon up, and from that day on they became good friends.  Anytime he needed advice, Master Dragon went to Master Tiger, and he changed the way he trained so that Master Dragon would not be beaten again so easily.

The End
