 Kids just like me... AAAAAHH!!!!!!

It has occured to me that when it comes to the point in my life to have kids, that they are going to be effected by me, whether I want them to be or not. So I decided that rather than complaining about it, I should focus more on making myself into someone that I would want them to be like. This is what made me seriously become a seeker. I have a record of books and interesting sources, that I've looked over and I have a whole list of stuff that I still have to read I will post this list at a later date, along with what I got out of each book, and I really want to know what those who should happen upon my blog get out of them. If I can get any comments on that, than my blog will be doing its job. Off the top of my head, I would list, "The Samurai Code; a Modern Translation of the Bushido Shoshinsu" translated by Thomas Cleary, The Bible (if you don't like it at least know why, I reccomend biblegateway.com as you can look at six different translations and compare how this book has been translated, "Ghandi" by none other than the humble leader himself, "Feel the fear and do it anyway" don't remember the author... I'll finish this list at a later date, sorry I don't have more sources that aren't just christian, I figured I'd start by examining the faith I had been raised in, closely.

EDIT: I am aware that children do not always end up just like their parents, this is more a question of what leadership impact will you have on your childrens life.

Thankyou very much for your comments, they helped me correct an error in the way I was communicating my idea, thus also correcting an error in my thought processes.

Then again, your kids could be just like your wife. Sometimes, they take a little bit of both Mom and Dad, but ultimately, they are individuals with a mind of their own, desires of their own, plans of their own. Your example is important, but they will also have to seek their own truth. Eveyone is unique.

Actually I already thought about that. It means watch who I marry, and do my best. My kids are the ones who will make their own choices. I don't agree with all my parents, I just want to start working on now what will help me later.

I'm nothing like my parents XD
I'm almost exactly like my brother, who, again, is nothing like my parents. Siblings, uncles, aunts, and other members of the family have a giant part in how kids act as well!!

I can guarantee that if you are part of someones life, than decisions you make do have an effect on people. For example, my mom changed the way she ate without ever asking anybody else to change. She continued cooking food the same way for everyone else and a little bit for herself. The result was that my whole family took on a new awareness of eating health. This is more of a question of how will you effect your children... if they go astray will you be the one who pushes them there? or will you be someone that they would want to be like?
