The key thing though here is that it is merely a gathering of people who want this lifestyle. An aamish community has their ways, why would somebody else seeking to live a different way of life be treated with any less respect. I am not looking to leave the USA nor to overthrow it, but rather to just get a group of people together that want to do this, and give it a shot... I know the idea still needs a lot of work. This is just a single step.

Thanks for the heads-up. I do watch that one, but it is good to be mentioned for whatever readers run across this blog.

I don't get the grill thing either, even though the year I graduated, both our prom queen and king were wearing them. All I can say is it is a stupid fashion style that their future kids are going to get a good laugh out of. As for the other stuff, a good deal of the time in this country young men aren't being shown that they should be leaders. A lot of times their dad's aren't even there. It does not justify these young men, they should no better, but all we can do is set our best example, and show them what leadership and respect is about.

P.S. Don't tell me you can't, I'm not trying to convince you to. Besides "can't" is lazy thinking, it shuts down your subconscious from even trying. Rather say "How can I?" it gets the gears turning.

What race? aren't we all people... oh yeah. That was the point of this whole post. Well done, it was a pleasure to read.

Thank you very much for that encouragement. The true test of how good of an entry is though will be how many people take me up on my challenge... including myself. If I can speak but cannot act nor spur anyone else to action than my writing will be for not. Again though, thankyou for the encouragement.

I can guarantee that if you are part of someones life, than decisions you make do have an effect on people. For example, my mom changed the way she ate without ever asking anybody else to change. She continued cooking food the same way for everyone else and a little bit for herself. The result was that my whole family took on a new awareness of eating health. This is more of a question of how will you effect your children... if they go astray will you be the one who pushes them there? or will you be someone that they would want to be like?

Actually I already thought about that. It means watch who I marry, and do my best. My kids are the ones who will make their own choices. I don't agree with all my parents, I just want to start working on now what will help me later.

This is not to be a bashing fest. The idea is to seek after truth, with total abandon to even our previous ideas. It does make me angry that "Christians" make themselves look like total idiots, as you are pointing out, but if we merely bash christianity or any religion for that matter without at least making an attempt to understand where they are coming from or seeing what truth we can learn from them, than we are no more open minded than those that we condemn for the same crime we than commit.
