If I may offer some advice: work your sexuality out between you and God. If He doesn't want you to be "bi", and you give the situation over to Him, it will be sorted out one way or another.

Forget the others. Save yourself for yourself. You do have a future worth seeing if you get the help you need and surround yourself with loving people.

I've been around suicide. The ppl you would leave behind, however dysfunctional they might be, still love you and would NEVER "get over it."

Posted in What's happened to the clothing industry? on 2008-03-24 10:18:23
Some people in the rag trade are doing something about this. Google "modest clothing" and various lines and designers come up. Here's a link to Christa Taylor's site http://www.christa-taylor.com/

Yep. some guys suffer from gynecomastia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gynecomastia there are very few conditions that would bother me more than to have that. i think i'd want to be euthanized if i had incurable moobs.

LOVE THE BEATLES. THEY'RE THE BEST THAT EVER WAS AND EVER WILL BE! I understand the point of your post isn't any comparative statement about this song versus others, but in my humble opinion, a better song is In My Life: There are places I remember All my life though some have changed Some forever not for better Some have gone and some remain All these places have their moments With lovers and friends I still can recall Some are dead and some are living In my life I've loved them all But of all these friends and lovers There is no one compares with you And these memories lose their meaning When I think of love as something new Though I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I'll often stop and think about them In my life I love you more Though I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I'll often stop and think about them In my life I love you more In my life I love you more

I should join you. I've been healthiest when my carbs have been low. Lots of broccoli and other similar veggies in place of bread is what I need.

I don't buy it that men cheat because the wives don't take care of their needs, at least not as a generality. Sure, that happens sometimes, maybe even frequently. But, if you're paying $5K for a hooker, there's probably not much your wife could do at home -- despite best efforts -- that would satisfy your "needs."

Hollis: I've done modified guy versions of numbers 3, 5, 7 and 10. Try to start something w/a bigger guy? Check. Tell your buddies that they are awesome? Check. Have a "deep connection" w/some random girl at the bar? Check. Pass out somewhere other than a bed? Check.

I don't mean this answer to be cutesy or simplistic, but on some basic level, life is what you take from it. It's really, really easy to feel like life has no purpose, and that we're just floating around through time and space aimlessly. But, you might find more purpose or meaning if you first consider what you WANT from life -- take some time to think about that -- and THEN see if you can find out how to get it. I don't claim to have all the answers. I've got my own issues. But I do know that the difference between feeling useless and useful is sometimes just making the effort to live intentionally, to do what you think would be gratifying to yourself and others.

Truth is that if he/she is going to take himself/herself out, nothing you can say will stop that. I commend you for trying. I think I would do the same thing. Too bad this person is just looking to make someone else miserable instead of seeking badly-needed help.

Posted in What I can't understand! on 2008-03-07 15:24:13
I understand this "debate" a bit. Our Church has a "traditional" service at 9:00 a.m. and a "contemporary" service at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays. The difference is in the style of worship and the older folks tend to go to the traditional service. I would go to the traditional service if I weren't busy doing other things early on Sunday. There is certainly room in Christianity for various doctrinal viewpoints and worship styles. We certainly shouldn't be bickering about these things.

I've struggled recently with wanting to have a burning passion, the kind you have when you're dating, reawaken in my relationship. I've posted on that here, too. But I also realize that being "in love" is hardly necessary in a marriage. With enough of the right kind of work, a marriage can be wonderful, even without that "in love" feeling. Just a perspective. Not judging you or telling you how you should feel. I hope it works out for you.

I love the post, but our leaders can't make the rest of the world love us. The world hates us even in spite of all the good we do. I've decided I don't give a crap whether the French or the Russians or Angolans, etc. like us.

People are cruel. So you had to endure that, especially as a child. I can kind of identify since I disliked myself when I went through my "fat" stages (3-5 grades). It was not pleasant.

Posted in Pro-life or Pro-abortion? on 2008-03-03 16:33:42
Yep, I agree. It's murder. If I didn't feel like abortion was killing a human being, I wouldn't care how many abortions women had. But...

Posted in How About That Gender Bias? on 2008-03-03 12:41:20
You said: Gender bias, of course, is very difficult if not impossible to measure in the electorate. But it is undeniably playing some role in the current contest between Clinton and Barack Obama, probably a significant one." **** That may or may not be the case. Don't forget that millions of Americans -- Democrats, Republicans and independents -- strongly dislike Hillary Clinton personally. While she might be more "qualified" than Mr. Obama, to millions of people, Mrs. Clinton simply isn't as likeable. I think this is much less about sex or race and more about (pleasant) personality. Obama has one and everyone can see that. Mrs. Clinton is trying to convince people that she has a heart.
