Have you been boggled by multiple sitings of posts entitled "Scribbles Challenge" and had no idea what it means? For the benefit of our newer bloggers, please allow me to explain.
The Scribbles Challenge is a weekly writing game (for lack of a better word), issued generally on Mondays. It's intended as a sort of writing prompt to get your creative juices flowing.
Scribbles is not a contest - there are no winners and most definitely no losers. It's open to one and all. We welcome new scribblers with open arms! It's a great way to improve your writing skills and we can promise you the support and encouragement of a great bunch of our regulars/cheerleaders. (It's also a great way to get noticed.)
There is no time-limit and very few rules. To date, we've had 46 different Challenges. You're welcome to have a go at any or all of them. (One of these days, I'll get around to compiling a list for you.)
Where are these Challenges? See that "forums" tab up there? Click that, and scroll way down to the bottom to where it says "Creative Writing" and click on that. Once you're in there, you can scroll through the various threads and hunt for the ones which say "Scribbles Challenge # [whatever]." Or, if you'd like to have a look at the latest Challenge, click here. The description of this week's Challenge, and some general instructions can be found on the first page of the thread.
Please don't be shy - come join us! We'd love to see you strut your stuff!
Cheers!
