I kept an online journal once... years ago. I made the HTML all from scratch in notepad. In fact, I've always kept some kind of diary or journal. My year 8 English teacher loved me because she liked us to keep journals.
Recording my thoughts and trials and tribulations is my stab at immortality, I guess. Look at the greatest writers of all time; William Shakespeare, JRR Tolkien, even Ann Frank; will never truly die as long as their writing is still around. Michelangelo, Picasso, Dali; their art lives on and will be admired and studied and talked about for centuries to come. So this is my artform, and whilst I don't claim to be a fantastic fiction writer like Tolkien, or Impressionist like Dali, maybe my words will touch someone, somewhere, and live forever in them.
So anyway, I like the idea of having this stuff online. I don't mind if strangers read my thoughts and rantings, I just don't like my friends and family reading my stuff (they might ship me off to the looney bin for one thing, and for another, they find out what I REALLY think!) Well, it seems everyone's calling them blogs now, so I suppose that's what this is.
I'm going to start with transcribing some of my notebooks and handwritten journals, some of them are a bit dark, and kind of creepy in retrospect, but I was suffering depression and anxiety, but I'm a bit better now I'm on medication for it.
If anyone reads this, I hope you find it interesting, possibly even helpful in your own life. Maybe you can even relate to some of the things I've been through, or am going through. Or have yet to encounter!
"Grab onto my arm now. Hold tight. We are going into a number of dark places, but I think I know the way. Just don't let go of my arm. And if I should kiss you in the dark, it's no big deal.
Now listen:"
