I got to work tonight to be greeted by Simone, who grabbed me by the hand, dragged me outside, and asked me point-blank about WorkDave. I didn't deny it. She got all concerned and worried, which annoyed me more than the fact that people were talking about me behind my back. She said she heard it from another staff member but wouldn't say who. I had to go off and do the house shop then, and stewed for a while, angry that people had nothing better to do than gossip, angry at Dave for putting in a pretty miserable effort at work that morning - the evidence was everywhere. He's so different outside of work, even Simone would like him a whole lot better if she saw more than just his work ethic. I just want him to step it up at work, I want people to see what I see, so that maybe they'll be less opinionated about me being with him. I came to the conclusion that we're going to have to come clean and tell people at work in order to stop the rumours. And I'll have to talk to him tomorrow about showing more initiative at work. I met him for half an hour between when he finished work at 1500 and I started at 1530, and since it's been, like, a week since we were intimate, I wanted to jump him right then and there, but I'm seeing him tomorrow, we're both on afternoon shifts. I'll just have to try and contain myself to talk to him first without sounding like I'm nagging, just encouraging. Hmmm.
