| Whats Love got to do with it?

Love is a misunderstood word, a concept to some, a living reality to others. Some seek it, in some cases too desperately. Some say they dont want it and can live without it, then they find it and their answers change. Many people even fear it to some extent but love, Real Love, cannot, will not, EVER harm you. It's what people accept as love that hurts.
There are some who love and get betrayed and replace their love with fear, borne of the memory of the depth of pain they experienced through that betrayal. Their love becomes crystalised into segments of cynicism, sarcasm, disbelief, all glued together by a deeper hidden longing to be proven wrong, to be loved again. I have known many many people like this. They are the casualties of the 'battle of the sexes'.
As in any war, the different sides have different 'weapons'. Women use and work through their emotions whilst the majority of men are logical, visual, sensory creatures. Many women find it difficult to imagine sex without love and men find it hard to understand why women think this way but there can be casualities on both sides, for both can be guilty of betrayal and of creating further casualties in this 'war'.
The only winner is Love. Real Love, not the watered down, conditional, hope-it-gets-better love that too many people accept as being the "real thing'.
Real Love is the mediator. It sits and waits for the casualties to arrive, to heal them and help them to remember. Those who have found it already, those who believe in it and never doubted it, these are the nurses and doctors, tending to the casualties. They teach and help and nurture those who have been hurt by Love and help them to love again.
Those who have lost their belief, who have been hurt, who have been betrayed, who feel the need for some form of 'feedback' - will return to Love once more too. They just dont know it yet!
There is much much more to Love than just romantic love of course, much more than just the feelings one may have for a specific other. Love is not just about the union of a man and a woman. There are many forms of it and love pops up in the most unexpected of places. There is love between men and women, men and men, women and women. There is love between parents and children, children and their friends, siblings. There is the love between people and their pets too.
To know if you have real love though, to know what you really love there is a very simple test...
If it's real, there will be NO 'conditions' anywhere to be seen in it. It's not a case of loving someone "as long as.......the do this or that"! Real Love means you love them NO MATTER WHAT!!
If your unsure what you love - just imagine what your life would be like without it. If you absolutely couldn't face living without that person, or even that thing, if you would do anything to keep them/ it in your life - then that is no doubt what you love.
Love never destroys, it only grows. It grows larger, wider, the more often you give it away freely too. The more you love - unconditionally - the more that love is returned to you. When you fear, or hate, the less you experience it.
Stop and think how, where and who you can share Love with today!!
