I am a Free Spirit, created by the ONE creator, the very same ONE creator who made everything and everyone. My creator is everyone's creator. He created ALL of humanity, both male and female. He created all living things, the birds in the air, the fish in the sea, the animals and insects in the grassy meadows and forest glades.
He did not create me as one of the chosen people, one of the elite who will look after me and take care of my every need PROVIDING I obey what he says and do not question anything that I am told about him. He gave me free will, the same as he gave it to everyone.
He would like it if I lived a good, loving, compassionate life, caring and sharing, helping and assisting others along the way. If I choose not to, though, he isn't going to cast me aside like some useless used condom. My spirit is part of him, and his divine plan does not include a burning pit for all eternity......!
Some people feel the need to call him a certain name and to assign him as the leader of a specific religion. They want to belong to that specific group and attest to their belief in that doctrine. They read the books, the tomes pertaining to their particular religious path and accept that the words written there is the "word of God" and that the words written in the books of any other religion are "wrong" and that only their book can be right. They believe that "their God" is right and all others are wrong. They believe that they should try to teach and convert others to their religion, to their way of thinking, to their beliefs. Why do they think that? Because it's written in the book, of course!
Religious followers like to congregate in their places of worship to praise their god, seek forgiveness, ask for prayers to be answered and to 'feel good' that they have adhered to their religious teaching by celebrating their holy day.
Some religions teach that there is a Heaven or Paradise and that those who obey the words written in their Holy books will go there to live forever in eternity with their god. They teach that those who continually "sin" and do not "obey" the words written in their Holy books, will go to Hell. These places are, almost traditionally, thought of as being 'Heaven - above' and 'Hell - below'.
I am not here to mock, ridicule or decry others for their beliefs - Quite the opposite, I heartily congratulate them for believing in something outside of themselves, outside of this material, physical world. It matter less what they believe in than the fact that they do believe in something.
I have no interest in trying to convert others to my beliefs and I have even less interest in being converted. I accept everyone and their beliefs and their religions. If it works for them, that is good for them. It doesn't mean that it is good for me.
I have walked through many different traditions and belief systems and I have arrived at what is right for me. My beliefs are universal, accepting, encompassing. They are not divisive, singular, or judgemental as some religions teach their adherents to be.
My belief in God, in Spirit, does not now come from a mass or religious service or rite. It is not loosely based on the words in any book. It is completely and wholly based on my personal experience, my personal relationship with my creator. My place of worship is everywhere. It is made of Love and light, not brick and mortar. My god does not have a Holy day because every day is a way of life lived in and through Spirit. There are no books with the words of the creator written for others to read and follow because this is my relationship with my god, no one else's and everyone else can (and will) have their own personal relationship with him too.
My God, My Creator made all living things, and all living things have a Spirit within and share that Spirit which connects us to the Greatest Spirit of all, the ONE true creator.
I believe there will be a time for everyone when everyone will see this truth - it may not be in this lifetime however.
Whatever you believe and whoever you believe in, may your God, or your Goddess, watch over you, guide you and walk with you.
Namaste.
