 The wise old cat.
When you look back at the way your life has been filled with twists and turns, most of which were never planned or envisaged by you, you can sometimes see that there is some sort of order among the random chaos and boring droll days that brought you to this point. I discovered this startling peice of insight by watching a cat!

It is a large white and ginger type and it often goes for a slow ambling walk round the garden and paths between the houses. It has a rather slow, almost comical walk as if it was walking on eggshells and it just looks so relaxed and laid back as it makes its way around as if nothing would or could ever bother it. It exudes a sense of contentment in being where it is and doing what it's doing, and has no sense of urgency to be anywhere else other than right where its at. Definitely the epitome of a "cool cat".

This led me on to thinking how we get ourselves so wound up and fixated on trivial things that really dont matter that much. We give much more attention to things than they deserve and credit more importance to unimportant things than we should do. Sometimes we do and say things that we dont really mean and strive to keep the peace and make everyone happy, usually often failing in the attempt too.

In the end though, just like my cat, we need to learn, or re-learn how to just enjoy every day that comes along, no matter what each day brings with it, or where it takes us. We need to learn to go with the flow of life and just try to be where we're most happy and share what we have with whomever makes us the most happiest. That cat doesnt make any attempt to make anyone happy but, just by being there, sharing its life, its presence with others and with the family it lives with, it is making people happy all the time.

My cat,"Perfect", is the same way. Sometimes, well often, I think I misnamed him and start to change his name to "Trouble" or "Sling Blade" but most of the time he is the same way your cat is.
