Everyone has an 'aura', a field of energy around them. All living things have this and some man made electrical things have it too but Spiritual energy is not eletrical and vice versa, otherwise we'd all be walking around 'zapping' each other by accident (by purpose in some cases :p).
Some people can see the aura, some can only see it partially, some see it in color and some cannot see colors. I can see but not in color and my strength lies in feeling and sensing it rather than seeing as seeing tires the eyes somewhat.
What is less well know is that this aura is not just a dormant energy field that 'hangs' there around you. It is in fact an interactive thing which has some sponge-like qualities. Neither is it the only aura around you. There are debates about how many energy fields there are, how far they extend and what their purpose is, I can only relate my own beliefs.
In my experience there are three energy fields of which I am personally aware. The first energy field is normally close to the body and, when you meet someone, stand talking to them for a few moments perhaps, the aura of you and the other person intermingles and mixes together. I have seen this on several occasions and, after being spooked by it the first time, have come to realise it is natural and acceptable. Remember I said that I dont see in color so, the first time it happened, all I saw was two large energy fields wafting about around the heads and shoulders of the two people I was watching. They looked like smoky trails, changing from smoky grey to the heatwave effect you see coming off a hot roadway in summer.
The reason they intemingle is that they are interacting and, in doing so, pick up all sorts of information about the other person. Those who are called 'psychic vampires', the sort of people whom you feel drained after being around, will 'suck energy' from your aura, unaware that they are doing it. Through these interactions, you get the message, the vibes, the instinct of whether this person is trustworthy, is dangerous, is a good or 'nice' person, if they are ill, telling the truth, lying, etc. All sorts of information - but most of which you will be consciously unaware!
The reason you remain unaware is that you are unaware of the aura and probably largely unaware of your inner voice speaking to you. Your Higher sense speaks to you in symbols and always for your benefit but its 'voice' is drowned out by the constant incessant chatter of the lower Ego mind which demands all of your conscious attention, like a petualnt, spoiled child. If you find doubt with this, try these few exercises.....
Sit with your eyes open for ONE minute exactly and empty your mind of all trivial thoughts. Thats all. Just one minute isn't too long but I'm suggesting that you wont be able to do it, not at first anyway because your lower Ego mind will start talking and firing all sorts of random nonsense at you in an effort to distract you and stop you. If you can, "look at" what thoights come into your mind but DONT hold on to them. Let them pass through as if you were watching preview clips of movies. Keep practising and you will be taking the first steps towards getting back in control.
So the aura helps us to assess and guage danger and sense other living things around us. It also helps us to 'discard' illnesses and disease, but that's not something that can be taught easily overnight or over the web. I'm not suggesting that I have some secret formula to cure everything, only that there is a greater font of knowldege and individual internal power within each and everyone that lies largely untapped and unused. If we all had complete and total access to the power of Spirit within, not only would religions become obsolete (I believe) but the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical/ medical companies would go bankrupt, so it's in certain peoples interests to keep the majority of people in ignorance.
Another exercise to learn to see the aura is to hold your opened hand against a light background, preferably using a dim light like a candle perhaps, (natural light is always good). Place your gaze at the space between your fingers, looking at the lighter background (wall or whatever), but keep your conscious awareness at the side of your fingers. It may take several tries to begin seeing what is there but you have to work to remember that you have forgotten how to see clearly. How do you keep your conscious awareness seperate from your gaze?
Like I said before, still and quieten your mind first. Then sit with your eyes closed (for this one) and put all of your consciousness 'into' your feet. Become aware of the feel of them. The air between your toes, the blood within, whether they feel hot or cold, what sensations you feel, what images might flash through your mind. All of it.
Another good exercise is to use your passive hand (the one you use to write with) and hold it close to, (not on or too close) to a living thing. I find trees and plants work best. You can close your eyes if you want but place your conscious awareness 'in' the palm of your hand and just see what you feel for yourself. Remeber you might need to try a few times because you are working against your own lower mind that WILL tell you 'its all a load of cr*p' and 'it doesnt work and your a fool for trying', etc, etc.
Once you begin to experience the aura, the energy fields around things, you will want to try more and learn more. Remember that you can try anything. You are moving in to your own discovery of Spirit and like any pioneer, you are limited only by your own creative mind. In Spirit, you are limitless! It would be interesting to read other people's personal discoveries and experiements, should anyone decide to try. Good luck to all who do.
I will be writing and blogging more in the new year so, until then..... Happy New year to one and all. I wish you all you wish yourself/s.
Namaste.
