 Britney Spears...I just gotta comment...

I'm not sure why I even bothered with this one, but Britney Spears' latest fiasco has gotten a little of my attention...

Possibly because we are only days apart in age or we share a son with a common name...

I think she has had a lot of greedy people in her life who have only looked to profit or get their own careers started off the sweat of her brow.

I do not think she was surrounded by people who actually cared about her well being and as much as I hate to slam a fellow mother, it looked as though no boundaries were set for her, and she definitely wasn't taught how to be a lady or a responsible parent.

People are slamming Kevin Federline the opportunist, but I'm not. Right now he appears to be the closest thing to stability those two boys have. Neither he nor Britney are innocent parties here. I only feel a little sorry for Britney in that she has been surrounded by bad company, but her mothering, or lack thereof, is something I have no sympathy or respect for.

I can only imagine my parents had I become a superstar at 16. They would have been at every photo shoot, telling me, not asking me, what is and is not acceptable for a 16 year old GIRL to wear. There would have been no short skirts, no rolled up shirts, no suggestive lyrics or magazine covers. I would have still had a curfew.

However, I also think my parents would not have encouraged me to pretty much work my teenaged years away so they could reap the benefits. I also think that if I were showing signs of cracking, I'd have had family and friends there to pick up the pieces rather than stand idly by.

Her mother's book has been shelved; her little sister's show is probably done after this next season. Ah well.

I kind of understand Britney to an extent. When you try to be perfect for everyone, when you try to be what everyone wants you to be and you're not true to yourself, it wears on you, especially when the very people you are trying to please by hiding your true self don't appreciate it. I wish I could tell her to just be herself. People wanted a squeaky clean britney spears when  she came out. She was not allowed to make the normal mistakes most teenagers make because of the spotlight being on her all the time. I would hate to live life under a microscope.

However, none of that is an excuse for her pisspoor mothering. No matter what the kids did not ask to be here.

She needs help but she also needs to take a good look at the people around her and examine their motives a little more carefully.

I agree that she has/had "bad company" surrounding her. You don't allow people to run over your kids just so that you can reap some benefit.

It seems like Britney's having a breakdown ... where's her mom? Why is Dr. Phil visiting her BEFORE her own mother?

Her "pisspoor" parenting skills may very well exist because she wasn't shown anything. May be what she's doing is all she knows how to do.

Federline is all those 2 young children have until their mother finally takes rehab and court orders seriously.

At that time, she will be taking being a mother seriously.

Anyone hear the rumor that she's pregnant again?!
