Today I was walking to the train station to get to university. I was a little bit late so I started running. I was beside the road and then suddenly I heard a bus stop beside me. I realised I was beside a bus stop, and that the bus had stopped because the driver thought that I was running to get to the bus on time. I tried to wave to him to say "thank you but I don't actually want to get on the bus" but I'm not sure if he saw me. In any event, he drove on a few seconds later when I kept running. I just thought it was very nice of him to consider me, even though I hadn't flagged him down. A lot of bus drivers wouldn't do that. It made me think again of the good that there is in the world.
I have a student discount card for the train, which gets me 30% off. It is the only thing that makes the train worth getting because it is ridiculously expensive anyway and quite often the trains are later than a pregnant woman's period. Anyway, my discount card from last year expired a few weeks ago, and I had to apply for a new one. It has taken FAR longer than it should have to arrive. When I applied the cashier gave me a receipt, which I can show to the staff on the train who sell me my ticket. The staff on the train generally let me have the discount because they see that I am a student, and I have the receipt, but my card just hasn't arrived yet. I like it when they do that, it is decent of them. Still, sometimes they don't give me the discount, and it annoys me. They can see that I should be entitled to it, but because the postal system sucks they won't give it to me. Now I don't want to be a grumpy old heffalump, but I think that's a little mean of them. That's what happened today, and I had to pay more money!! Maybe I'm angry, but sometimes I feel that in between the right thing to do, and the wrong thing to do, there is nothing. I don't know why people would apply the rules so rigidly. Maybe I'm just grumpy.
After university today I wanted to buy something in town. As it turned out, the shop was sold out of what I wanted so it was a bit of a wasted trip. Still, my bag was heavy because of a careers fair at university so I was laden with books advertising jobs. Before I went into town I decided to leave my bag at my place of work, which is a theatre, where I show people to their seats. The theatre is right next to the train station in town, and right in the centre of town near the shops. It was very easy for me to put my bag in the staff room, and walk into town without having to carry my heavy bag. I was pleased. It made me appreciate my job just that little bit more.
That was nice. I liked writing that. OK guys I might do some more of those as time goes on, just write about things. I hope everyone is having a lovely day!!
God Bless all of you
Later Dudes
