Hurry quick, any advice?

So I got hired about a month ago, at Sears. I told my manager, when she was hiring me, that I couldn't work Saturdays. At all. I have riding lessons, at 11:00-12:00. + at least 1 hour before and after for tacking up, and driving to and from. That means, I can't work any shifts, because that takes a huge chunk of time in the middle of the day.

My manager said that was fine. She told me that in November. So, As I read my hours, look, she has scheduled me for a shift on a Saturday. So, I work it, and I leave her a note, on her "____'s Notes". I remind her that I do not work saturdays, so please don't schedule me again. Then the December hours are partly done. Holey Moley look at all the Saturdays. She puts this in, 2 days before the first day on the shift. I catch her one evening, right before she is leaving.

"________, when you hired me, you said I didn't have to work Saturdays, I already have arrangements every saturday--"

"Yeah, but it's december, and in retail, thats just the way it is, just give me a couple, if you for sure can't just let me know, and I'll have them covered," *poof, she is gone, running to catch the elevator, before I can even answer. That Saturday I was supposed to work. I called in that Saturday, because I was so sick, it wasn't funny. She was pissed when she was on the phone with me that morning.

So, I'm supposed to work this Saturday. As in tommorow. So, I was talking to my riding instructor the other day, and she is PISSED off that I can't come. This, apparently is a super important lesson that I am missing (mostly, I think it is because I haven't had a lesson in 3 weeks). So, I am working on Thursday, my manager isn't there, so I leave her a note. I won't be able to come in this saturday.

Today, I get a phone call from some chick, god knows who she is "Susan". From where? I don't know. Who is she?

"Samantha, apparently you've called in, and you wont be coming in for your shift tommorow night. Well, you are the only one on the schedule, you need to come in. It is totally irrisponsible you calling in one day before, it isn't fair, and the schedule has been up. "

"I have had prior engagements on Saturdays for the last 8 years of my life. I cannot work saturdays. I wasn't supposed to work saturdays."

"It's because it's december, and this is retail, and thats the way retail is. You're the only one there, and we'll have to shut down ladies wear if you don't come in. We don't have anyone else."

Now, just some info to add here. I don't take confrontation well. Even over the phone. Generally I start to cry, because I am angry, and I just want to be able to go away. Very hard on the phone you know. And, another little tid bit, I work floor. So, If you don't know what that is... I'm the one who takes the clothes you've tried on, and don't want, and put them away.

ANYWAYS,

it ended pretty much with me in tears, and agreeing with her that I would come in, just to get her to shut her face.

Now, first of all. It's not my fault you don't have enough employees. Second, why the hell would you have to shut down ladies wear, if one of your floor girls didn't show up. Third, why do you only have 1 person on floor, for the busiest night of the week. Fourth, if my manager hadn't scheuled me for Saturdays, you wouldn't have to be worrying about this, now would you? and Fourth, is it not better that I gave you a days notice, instead of just not showing up like all the other people?

Of course, I didn't say any of that to her, because I am a chicken, and wasn't thinking that fast, but I mean, my manager can't even call me her self? Instead she gets a bitchy "Susan?" I mean, wtf?  Honestly. The only advice I can get from my mom, is "Oh, I'll call her for you". There is no way in hell I am having my mom call my work for me, but anyways... Do you not think that in November, she should have known that she was going to need people to work Saturdays? If she had told me that, then I would have told her that I couldn't take the job.

Question is, should I go in tommorow, and tell them that I  wont be working anymore Saturdays, and if that isn't good enough, than I'll find somewhere else to work,

or should I just not go in at all, and quit?

I really hope that you quit because that is bullshit. You told them right off the bat that you couldn't work Saturdays because you had prior engagements. Tell them to go fuck themselves! :-)
