| Third Day ( 4 and half hours)

We volunteered for awhile today. Jessica and I got there at 10:30 when Rainbow House was just opening. Isabelle had us working the table. We had to take people's orders and get their drinks. We also had to work the cashier or as they call it the, "till." I was nervous about this, in dealing with different money, but I ended up doing ok.
Today, I realized that people are very peticular about their coffee and tea. Some peope wanted it strong, weak, and white. Half of the time I did not know that they were talking about, so I would just smile put some milk in it and hope that was enough. One lady came back complaining and Isabelle made her drink the second time.
Isabelle, is the head lady in charge of Rainhow House. She is a very nice lady. When she is teaching us how to do anything, she says to relax and to not worry about making mistakes. In fact she says there are no mistakes because it's not a big deal. I asked if she had ever been to the states and she said that she had actually been born in St. Louis and she moved away when she was 16. She has not really been back since then and she came over here and met her husband and now her life is here. I thought this was very interesting because she has a very strong British accent and I would have never thought she had come from the states.
There was another girl working their today whose name was Raquel, or Rachel in English. She is from Brazil and she is over here learning English. She was really nice and I really enjoyed talking to her. She told me that we should get coffee sometime, and i think that I would really like that. Another lady named Jerryl Dean is hilarious. She used to be an English teacher and her husband died a few years ago. She volunteers at Rainbow House everyday for "something to do" she says. She says she likes being around us young people because we keep her on her toes.
