I had always thought cancer was supposed to be a marathon, not a sprint. Just wanted to say thanks for those who prayed for my grandmother.
Slightly shocked to say that she took a turn for the worse at the weekend and died yesterday, in bed at home, with my grandfather there. Only two weeks after her diagnosis, hence the shock for those of us left behind.
But it's how she wanted to go so it's sort of a relief and it's also prayer answered, as we prayed that if God is not going to take the cancer away then make it short and painless please, and he delivered. Hope she's enjoying getting to meet Jesus face to face after so many years of happy Christian life.
I'm just glad I got to see her and give her time with her great grandchild in the last 10 days. Now we grieve, remember the good times and support grandpa.
Thanks again, and God bless

As with angelwings, my thoughts and prayers are with you. My grandmother died in 04 of cancer after having it for 8 years. Although I greatly enjoyed the time I had with her and miss her dearly, I sometimes had wished that it had not been so drawn out and painful for her. Trust in Him and He will bring you peace.
