Enlightened Euroscepticism requires the enlightenm
Deary deary me.
The Observer at the weekend published an article calling for enlightened euroscepticism, but unfortunately criticised the EU for something it didn't actually do, and things that aren't actually in the Treaty of Lisbon...
Sounds unlikely? Think the EU's the bogeyman?

Where have you been?
Don't worry, I didn't disappear after the swine flu never to be heard of again.
I had a horribly busy time at work after returning from the illness, then went on holiday.
I'm also launching my own website: www.bitmorecomplicated.com - come on over and find me! -
Short post: oink!
I'm hoping that the blog posts I write are interesting and intellectual, even if I struggle with witty and erudite at times.
Today, befuddled is probably the word.
I'm on day 3 of swine flu - not a massively bad dose, I've not had respiratory complications which are the sort that tend to land you in hospital. But I feel absolutely exhausted and have spent most of the last couple of days asleep, drinking water and watching DVDs of Doctor Who and Coupling.
There are undoubtedly many exciting and important things happening in the world out there, but I'm really only interested in the length of time until I can next take paracetemol and mitigating the usual effects of flu.
And the side effects of Tamiflu. I mmm'd and aahed about taking Tamiflu - was my flu bad enough? Was I absolutely certain that I'm no pregnant? But ultimately I took it because although it only shortens the symptoms by one day that's one day less that my toddler can catch it from me.
Got to go - the general flu aces are not helping my carpal tunnel, and I need to sleep again...
