At the end of the evening
I like to put on my favorite jammies
and get into my nice comfy bed
it takes me awhile to get situated
I have to find the clicker
and figure out how to turn on the TV
it never goes on the first time I hit the "all on" button
thats another story and a long one! dont get me started!
I digress
I love having all my favorite stuff around me
like my books,
magazines, unread mail, journals, favorite pens, bottle of water, pictures, computer
I arrange everything
so I do not have to get out of bed to reach anything
I inevitably
end up needing something
and
then have to get out of bed to get it
but
finally
I get settled
Now,
I'm in my glory
on top of the world!
sometimes on top of the covers
sometimes tucked inside
it depends
hopefully the phone doesn't ring
and no one needs me
I can do my own thing!
I try a few different channels until I select something
to listen to while I am reading and writing
then poor Joe strolls in to my temporary domain
announces how early he has to get up the next morning
grabs the remote
changes the channel to the weather and sports
I hate watching or listening to the weather and sports ...
then
he asks how much longer I am going to be while he starts removing my books and magazines from our bed
and all the things I had carefully arranged within my reach
the next thing I know
Im in the dark
I will have to try to get my party started a bit earlier
so I can enjoy all the preperation involved
before the lights go out
