| the feeling of power |
|
I practically keeled over in exhaustion one sunny Saturday
after spending the entire day washing the lawn furniture
using every cleaning product available to assist me in my endeavor
including all the elbow grease I could muster
and slowly but surely
I started to make a little progress
but it wasn't an easy or enjoyable task
when I only had one chair left to do
of course
thats when
my neighbor stopped over with his power washer
and asked if I wanted to borrow it
better late than never I always say
He showed me how to operate it
and
the minute the water hit the chair and turned the black strip of plastic into sparkling white plastic
I knew I was hooked!
I began to power wash everything in sight
Those green mossy stepping stones,
were now as good as new
the windows,
not a single cob web
my car
shinning like it just came from the lot
the gutters
clean as a whistle
the cement stoop
who knew it wasn't brown
the driveway
miraculous
but way too big of an undertaking
so I just signed my name in cursive because I couldn't see in the dark
I just had to have my own
and I needed an electric one
his was gas
and the motor reminding me of a boat
and every once in awhile
it would simply give up
and I couldn't get that sucker to rev up again
I had to continually ask my husband or son to do it for me
and they were not real nice about it
hey, if I have a powerful tool in my possession
I want to have the power to use it
on my own
and not depend on someone else
so I bought myself an electric one
and my love affair
began
until
one day
without a moments warning
it just conked out
died
left me
stunned and depressed
When I finally got around to getting a new one
every single time I plugged it in
I blew a fuse
talk about frustration
not to menion the loss of power!
it was totally inoperable during the entire racoon fiasco
another story
see racoon lagoon
sad to say
I still haven't found a replacement
but I look forward to the day
I am lucky enough to find a new one
The minute that cleaning machine begins working
and I hit the dirt
watch out!
I get the chills just thinking about it!
