Thank you Emily, I want to make you happy!
Emily
is a good friend of my youngest daughter
Kate

 both are freshman
and have 9th period free

and they usually sit together

ah remember those good old free periods?
 golden moments of precious time!

although
its not a bad deal to have first period free either

its a stress buster in a way
Being able to start the day doing a little catch up
is a little piece of heaven
the bonus time allows you the opportunity
to finish the homework you did not complete the night before
or
do a little last minute cramming for a test

However, having last period free is nothing to complain about
students are allowed to leave early and head home if they so desire
although
most kids opt to utilize that extra time to socialize
which is not a bad thing
even though you could get a jump on your homework

9 times out of 10
its the period most of the kids use to unwind and chat with friends

I digress

Back to Emily
I love Emily!

for quite a few reasons

truthfully

I love all of Kates friends
Claire
I certainly don't want you to feel left out

congats on making the cheerleading squad next year
I know you were a tad nervous

that's another story
oh
I could mention a few more of Kates good friends
another time...another story

because this is about
Emily

Kate told me Emily reads all my blogs

to prove it
the day after I posted a story about
Kate writing a traditional Japanese poem
Emily
commented

"Nice tanka Kate, I liked your poem"
Kate had written a traditional Japanese poem
that I posted on Mothers Day

My daughter was flabbergasted
someone actually read one of her mothers blogs?

voluntarily

without being forced

she was amazed!

I guess Emily must have been really bored
yet Kate insisted
much to our
total astonishment
that Emily actually reads all of them
she even talked about some of her favorites!

wow
I'm so touched!

When is Emily's birthday?
I'm going to have to remember to send a card and get her a little something
and
perhaps I should write her a thank you note
while I'm at it?

Kate said Emily would be so happy if I mentioned her name in here

so

Emily
I hope this makes you happy

boy, I wish it was this easy
to make my own kids happy

one thing I know for sure
mentioning their name in a story
just wouldnt cut it!
