sometimes unhappy people need to be cheered up
I spent some time today reading other peoples posts and the comments that were made. I can not believe how many unhappy people exist just in this community alone. Imagine how many human beings on this planet are suffering in one way or another. It's so sad, that so many of us are hurting and searching for answers, for a purpose, for happiness, someone to love and someone to love us or looking for direction, peace of mind or simply hoping to find a friend to share a thought.

Unfortunetly, many individuals are at rock bottom, feeling like they can't go on any longer, feeling lonely and tired, warn out and exhausted from the circumstances of their lives and what is so amazing is that inevitably someone will step up to the plate and offer them a hand up whenever someone cries out. Perfect strangers are helping perfect strangers, all connected by a web site. A lot of thoughts people are here anonymously. It allows them freedom from being judged. I bet there are plenty of their closest friends and even family who are unaware of what they have shared with us. It's so sad because this is such a tiny portion of our population, can you imagine how many of us on this planet are experiencing tremendous hardship and no one knows. So many of us are suffering in silence.

We seem to be able to reach out to a stranger and ask for help, yet we can't confide in someone we know, we don't feel confident enough to be honest with them, so we hide our true feelings for one reason or another. Kindness abounds at thoughts.com. Plenty of people are here just to help those in need. They are a  tremendous aid and extreemly inspiring. They have such a gift with words and they generously share it.  We have no shortage of positive feedback.

Many close friendship have been formed and respect has been earned. There are people here you can count on for a laugh, and others for advice and still others do not hesitant to send up a couple of prayers for you.
I never dreamed this would be like this when I joined.

Occasionally a character will arrive on site, who has no idea what this place is about and they try to cause some sort of commotion or make fun of one person or another. But boy, when that happens, there is no shortage of members who stop what they are doing and come to the rescue. Those trouble makers never last long.

I wish we all had the guts to confide in a neighbor or a friend, a coworker, or spouse. But thats another story.  Although, I'm happy there is a place that will never let you down. Here, there is trust and friendship among strangers and a destination where you are able to help others or be helped yourself. It's like the corner pub, like Cheers, where everybody knows your screen name and we are always glad you came.

I completely agree with you!
I'm sorry I haven't been checking in lately. I think one of the reasons everybody can open up here and recieve help from strangers is simply the power of the written word.
It's amazing. Writing truly brings people together.
It's like music. Only so much stronger.
I loved this post!

this post is brilliant, and very true,i say things on here that i could not express to my friends and family, because of not wanting to burden them or have them view me in a different light,i can talk to them but not how i relay the words on the page,i love this site because it has people like you in it.
