and disappointed in himself
...what an understatement...

to try
to make it up to his
family,
and
what else is new?
sorry means nothing anymore to these guys
His wife,
dutifully stood beside him as he talked to the reporters,
and, what else is new?
We all saw her tragic face
as he read from his carefully worded apology
where did she find the strength to stay on her feet?

she had the forethought to hide behind a black veil
every facial gesture would have been interpreted
by anyone with a microphone
giving the hungry public a running commentary

on the devastated face of the governors wife
many of us were more interested
in the impact
