Did you ever try shopping for a good friend and realize you really do not know their essence?
Considering the holidays are just around the corner,

this is a timely topic. 

 For all those that have been living under a rock,

 I just returned from Vegas after winning a dream trip for writing my blogs.

I wanted to bring back a few things for some friends,

 nothing big,  

just a few little mementos to let them know

 I was thinking about them while I was away

  and thank them for supporting me with my passion for writing,

 thought I'd get something for my kids while I was at it,

not because they are blog supporters

because I'm such a good mom

and if

 for any reason

 I happened to be mad at them when I returned home

I could save it for Christmas
another story

 Some people are easier to peg than others

therefore easier to buy for

if you have any type of collections you are a piece of cake

you probably receive a lot of presents

maybe you are known for being sporty, preppie, casual, athletic minded, a bit of a hippy, wacky,

a lover of books or wine or chocolate or funky jewelry,

you probably make the person who gets your name in a grab bag very relieved.

but if you are mysterious,

or one of those people who only gives your opinion about things you hate,

 or items you feel are hideous,

 something you would not be caught dead in,

you on the other hand

and people like you

scare the gift giver to death

besides

adding so much more time and energy

 to the daunting effort

 lets not forget 

 expense

we will pay much more to insure we score a gift giving touchdown

for you

did you know you,
 my finicky friend,

 add an undue amount of stress to the procedure.

actually

no,

you don't,

 do you?

you are precisely the ones

 who moan and groan to a third party

  after receiving a gift that probably took a week to find

I can just hear you

I  ended up playing it safe with 2 of my friends

with a generic souvenir

we all know what those trinkets are

scarves,

candy,

key chains

candle

t shirt

and the like

but I hate having to go there

I like to score extra points
 

for being right on target
rather than 

 geting someone angry
cuz you wanted to do something nice
