My daughter Sam is the

 quintessential 

 "daddy's girl"

Ever since she was little

whenever we went anywhere

Sam would more often than not,

make a scene

and cause a giant commotion

unles she was the one sitting next to her dad,

whether in a restaurant,

 a movie theater,

 an amusement park

a sporting event

 or

 a park bench

The other kids often

complained

she acts like she owns him

like he belongs to

 only her

we can not get near Dad when she is around

and its sort of true

One day while waiting in the pre school car pool line

Sam looked at me with that big grin of hers and said

Mom

No offense ....

but...

I like Dad just a little bit more than I like you!

just a little bit more... mom

I sat there ...stunned,

She blasted me with such a sweet smile

I didn't know what hit me!

The very next day while waiting in the same line she said

Mom...

remember when Daddy gave you the maneuver?

(referring to the time Joe administered the Heimlich maneuver to me

to remove a chicken bone...

I had not realized Sam witness the event)

Yes Sam, I remember

Well, you had better be nice to Daddy,

 cuz

the next time it happens,

he night not do it!
